The Rohan Mark is a silver fantasy coin used in the Riddermark, the land of the horse-lords.
-
Diameter: 26 mm
-
Material: zinc alloy
Rohan’s currency was originally derived from Gondorian coins, sharing the same size and shape. Over time, the coins spread throughout much of Middle-earth and were even adopted by hobbits in the Shire.
The inscriptions on the coin are in the Rohirric tongue:
-
Lōgrad freolond éorin – “Rohan, land of the free”
-
beormas Eorlarfrea – “Endless open plains”
The Rohirrim spoke Rohirric, a language inspired by Old English, and wrote in the runic script known as Cirth, also used by hobbits. Their coins often reflected their love for horses and their wide green fields, symbols of freedom and pride.
This Rohan Mark is perfect as fantasy currency for LARP, RPGs and board games, a prop for theatre and film, or a collectible treasure of the Riddermark.
