The Western Dollar is a realistic replica inspired by two iconic US coins – Sitting Liberty (1836–1878) and the Morgan Dollar (1878–1910).
Our replica measures 35 mm and is available in silver (historical) and gold variants. Made from zinc alloy.
It combines elements of both designs but with unique details – no year mark and slight differences – so it cannot be mistaken for an authentic numismatic piece. This makes it versatile and usable in a wide range of historical and gaming settings.
💡 History and fun facts:
-
The Morgan dollar was minted from Nevada silver from the Comstock Lode, at the time the largest silver deposit in the world. These coins became a symbol of wealth and the Wild West.
-
In saloons and gambling halls they were nicknamed “cartwheels”, because when tossed on a table they spun like little wheels.
-
The Sitting Liberty represented the American ideal of freedom in the era following the Civil War.
The Western Dollar is perfect for reenactment, Western and steampunk settings, Civil War scenarios, RPGs and board games. In fantasy or gaming worlds, it can even serve as modern currency.
